MSD Rainscaping Grants

Since 2018, SLF Landscaping has proudly supported St. Louis homeowners in making eco-friendly landscape improvements through the MSD Project Clear Rainscaping Small Grants Program. This program provides up to $4,000 in reimbursement for approved rainscaping features that help reduce stormwater runoff—like rain gardens, native plantings, permeable patios, and more.

Our services cover a diverse range of features, including rain gardens, rain barrels, native lawn alternatives, permeable paver patios, native woodland restoration, green roofs, and bioswales. These investments not only enhance aesthetics but also contribute significantly to water quality and sustainable landscapes.

What Is A MSD Grant?

Project Clear is MSD’s initiative to improve water quality and alleviate many wastewater concerns in the St. Louis region. MSD will invest billions of dollars over a generation for community rainscaping projects, system improvements, and an ambitious program of maintenance and repair. Watch the orientation video below

How It Works

We can help you through every step of the process, including consultation, design, application assistance, installation, and maintenance. The first step is to check your eligibility. Then, watch the orientation video and take the orientation survey. Then, you can apply for the MSD grant.

  1. Check Your Eligibility

If you own property in the own property in any of the highlighted areas, you may be eligible. Go do the MSD interactive map and check your eligibility.

2. Watch the Orientation Video

The next step is to watch the orientation video (see previous section), or follow the link below. The video is roughly 90 minutes long.

3. Fill Out The Survey

After watching the orientation, answer the survey of 10 questions to complete the orientation requirement. Use the same contact information that you will include on your application.
